11th Annual Members Show

The 11th Annual Members Show is open to Light Chaser MEMBERS ONLY

  • ENTRY FEE: $35.00  Entry fee is due at Sign Up. Light Chasers Members are eligible for special pricing offered in our MEMBERS PACKAGE.

  • The Members Package $75.00  includes Entry fees for both Shows: the Annual Members Show & the Paint Sarasota Paint Out & Show + 2 Raffle Tickets.

  • No Refunds after February 11th, 2023

  • The Show will be held at the:

  • Edson Keith Mansion, Philippi Estate Park | 5500 S. Tamiami Trail | Sarasota, Fl. 334231

  • A Light Chasers Featured Artist will judge the Show. 

  • Awards Ceremony will take place on March 2nd, at 4:30pm on the back Terrace of the Edson Keith Mansion & the lawn area below the Terrace, weather permitting. If it rains there will be no awards ceremony. Award Ribbons will be hung on the winning paintings in the Mansion.

  • Artists will receive 100% of their sales.

  • All Painting Label information must be emailed into the Light Chasers email address:  by February 20, 2023.

  • The Label information required is:

  • Show Name: Annual Show

  • Name of Painting

  • Name of Artist

  • Size of Painting

  • Medium

  • Price  (Painting Prices must start at $75.00 & can go up from there)

  • DROP OFF: Artists may submit one painting to be hung in the Show. Drop Off is on Wednesday morning, March 1,  2023, from 8:00am to 10:00am at the Edson Keith Mansion at Phillippi Estate Park in Sarasota.

  • Late paintings will not be accepted.

  • PICK UP: Please be available to pick up your painting on Thursday evening, March 2, 2023 between 6:00pm & 7:30pm.

  • If you cannot Drop Off or Pick Up your paintings, please ask another artist for help.

  • Light Chaser Board Members will not be available to drop off or pick up artists paintings.




Annual Members Show Rules & Requirements


  • ELIGIBILITY: The 11th Annual Light Chasers Members Show is open to Light Chasers Members only.

  • Members must have painted at least once with the group in the past year, if they are physically able. Don't be a member in name only. If you cannot paint with the group than volunteer to help with the Shows.  We are a 100% volunteer non-profit corporation. No one gets a salary. We can only continue to have these shows with your help.

  • ENTRY FEE: is $35.00. No refunds after February 11, 2023. Payments must be made by cash, check or credit card when registering.

  • MEDIUMS & SIZES: Oil, Pastel, Acrylic and Watercolor are all acceptable painting mediums. Electronic painting or photography is not accepted. Any other medium must be approved by MaryAnn Ellicott before February 20, 2023. The largest painting surface allowed is 12" x 16". this does not include the frame .Watercolorists use quarter sheets or 12 x 16. If you wish to enter a larger painting than the above listed sizes, it must be approved by MaryAnn Ellicott before February 20, 2023.

  • JUROR: Our Juror will be a Light Chasers Featured Artist.

  • ARTWORK: All paintings considered for the jury awards must be completed in the previous two years and may not have been shown at last years show.

  • SALES: Artists will receive 100% of their sales. Your painting does not HAVE to be for sale. You can mark your entry NFS  or Not For Sale. We would like to keep the sold paintings hanging until the end of the Show on Thursday, March 2nd to keep the Show looking beautiful. We understand that sometimes the buyer needs to take the painting with them. If that is the case, we will honor that. Please work that out with the Light Chasers staff. Removing paintings early is not allowed for any reason except the sale of the painting. If you remove your painting before the designated Pick Up time for any reason, you will be banned from further shows. If you need help with Pick Up, please arrange that with a friend or other artist. We are great in helping each other out in Light Chasers, but we want our show to stay beautiful to the very last moment. Thank You for understanding.

  • FRAMING: Paintings need to be dry and framed and ready to hang before jurying takes place. Cropped canvases are acceptable as long as they are toned or painted sides. Watercolors must be matted and framed. All juried work must be framed or ready to hang.

  • FRAMED PIECES MUST BE: Wired with wired ends wrapped in tape. Wire should be securely attached to the back of the frame. the wire should be about 1/3 down from the top of the frame.  Saw tooth hangers, fishing line or chain is not acceptable. Mats, glass and plexiglass must be free of scratches and clean. Officers can choose not to accept any piece that does not meet these requirements.

  • LABELS: Every painting submitted needs a 3 part TRACKING LABEL. Please bring this with you when you drop off your painting. If needed blank labels will be available on drop off day.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      One part is to be attached (taped) to the back of the painting                                                                                        One part is given to the Light Chasers representative at Drop Off.                                                                              One part is kept by the artist and will be needed at Pick Up.  

  • PICK UP: All unsold artwork must be picked up on the Thursday evening, March 2nd between 6:00pm & 7:30pm at the Edson Keith Mansion, in Philippi Estate Park. Any  artwork that is not picked up will be taken home by a Light Chasers member. The is a $5.00 fee for each day that the work is not picked up. You  will need to make an appointment with the person storing your painting to pick up your work. Light Chasers members will not mail or drop off your work, or bring it to the field. If another artist picks up your work for you, they will have to sign for it at pick up & present your part of the 3 part label. If you know you cannot pick up your painting, please do arrange for another artist to pick it up.

  • LIABILITY: All entries are submitted/left at the owner's risk. Although precautions are taken, Phillippi Estate Par & Light Chasers are not responsible for damage or theft of paintings or frames for paintings in the Shows. Submission of work constitutes an agreement on the part of the artist to the provisions here set forth.

  • USE OF IMAGES: Any artist participating in the 11th Annual Members Show or the 9th Annual Featured Artists Show consents to the use of his/her name and the artist's image(s) for purposes of promotion and advertisement by The Light Chasers. The artist waives any claim, including any claim for invasion of the right of privacy or copyright against the Light Chasers, their directors, officers, employees and agents.

  • EXCEPTIONS: There are no exceptions to the rules. Please do not ask.
